This 8-hour class is power point and workbook led with subjects being safety, fundamentals, marksmanship and laws of NC.  A written test and a live fire test will be given in order to pass.  You need to be 20 years old + to attend but cannot apply for the permit until your 21st birthday, be a citizen or permanent resident of the US, cannot be a felon, live in the state with a driver's license or ID or provide proof of ownership if a seasonal resident. Students can take the course for open carry at 18 for knowledge without a permit given.

Instructors and RSOs are Melissa McCall-Owen, Adam Summey and Cedric Smith.  Students are welcome to come with both female and male instructors present, everyone is meant to feel welcome without judgement.  Beverages and snacks are included.  Pen & paper, targets and range included.  Firearms are available for rent if needed.
